No one can talk about music as charmingly and passionately as Götz Alsmann, a regular guest in Cologne with his band. The title of their new program sparks anticipation for a delightful evening. Their music harmonizes perfectly, creating a captivating world. Alsmann and his band achieve a casual lightness without drifting into arbitrariness. The focus is always on the group's sound: a well-balanced mix of subtle rhythm and delicate melody, reminiscent of old film scores.

It goes without saying that The Concertgebouw and jazz & pop music make a perfect combination. The stages of both the Main Hall and the Recital Hall have borne witness to nearly the whole of jazz history. Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald have both performed here, as have Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. Famous pop stars and bands that have graced the stage of the Main Hall include Frank Zappa, the Doors and the Eagles, to name but a few. Legendary concerts, in the present as well as the past.

Brass Band Berlin

Fri, Jan 3, 2025, 11:00
Elbphilharmonie, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Brass Band Berlin
The string players always sit at the front of the podium at an orchestral concert, while the percussionists and brass players always sit behind them, in the second row, so to speak. As principal percussionist at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Thomas Hoffmann wanted to change this fixed situation and founded the Brass Band Berlin. The idea was very well received by colleagues. The Brass Band Berlin is a perfect blend of brilliant musical sophistication and that little bit of extra entertainment.
