Chanukah, the festival of lights, is an ancient Jewish holiday. This year we are also proud to celebrate our 10th Anniversary Concert. Together with the Jewish Community of Amsterdam, we will celebrate the fourth night of Chanukah by jointly lighting the Chanukia (traditional eight armed candelabra) on the stage of The Concertgebouw. We’ve put together a special program made up of highlights from our previous nine concerts – which will appeal to both a Jewish and non-Jewish audience. Everyone is welcome to attend.Once again, we warmly welcome Chief-Cantor Chaim Stern to the stage, captivating us with his breathtaking voice. In celebration of this 10th Anniversary concert, we are honored to present the world-renowned Shuly Nathan, performing her iconic rendition of "Jerusalem of Gold." The Jewish Amsterdam Chamber Ensemble will offer a diverse program, featuring Jewish, Israeli, classical, and contemporary music. We are also pleased to have Barry Mehler return as Musical Director, with Leo Samama as concert patron. At our concert you’ll enjoy more than just music. Everyone will be treated to a special Chanukah delicacy “sufganiot” (jelly doughnuts) and kosher wine – all included in the ticket price. This concert is made possible, in part, by a donation from the Maror Foundation.
