Lucienne Renaudin Vary & Tim Allhoff

Tue, Apr 22, 2025, 19:30
Elbphilharmonie, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
Lucienne Renaudin Vary (Trumpet), Tim Allhoff (Piano)
Lucienne Renaudin Vary and Tim Allhoff are siblings in spirit, as they move between genres. »Jazz meets classical music« is not just a label for them, but a living reality. The French trumpeter enjoyed a classical education at the renowned Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique, but improvising in a jazz quartet or at home with her two younger brothers has always played an equally important role. Pianist and composer Tim Allhoff studied jazz piano in Munich and regularly immerses himself in classical soundscapes as an arranger for renowned musicians from the classical music scene. In the ProArteX series, both give free rein to their joy of playing and experimenting. In addition to Bach and Françaix, the programme includes songs by Gershwin, Nat »King« Cole and the Beatles.

Tim Burton's favourite composer / Metropolis Piano Quartet

Thu, Feb 20, 2025, 19:30
Metropolis Piano Quartet:, Sulamita Ślubowska (Violin), Dawid Jadamus (Viola), Łukasz Frant (Cello), Joanna Galon-Frant (Piano)
It promises to be a remarkable expedition in directions not obvious for chamber music. Spanish music enjoyed a heyday of national style at the turn of the 20th century. We are familiar in Poland with works by de Falla, Albéniz or Granados from this repertoire. Turina, on the other hand, is mainly associated with guitar music lovers. In the mellifluous Piano Quartet op. 67, he combines catchy Spanish themes with classical form, characteristic simplicity and serenity. The music of the eminent Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks is characterised by a meditative tone famous in this part of Europe. His Piano Quartet will unite lovers of classical harmonies with those seeking more contemporary forms of expression. Danny Elfman's quartet, meanwhile, will add to this concert the eclectic spirit of Hollywood, where the composer, acclaimed for his soundtracks for films by Tim Burton (Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Alice in Wonderland), Gus Van Sant (Milk) or the Simpsons series, is well known. Adam Suprynowicz Concert duration: approximately 100 minutes

50 years ago, Barclay James Harvest and founder Les Horloyd started their musical journey in Manchester. Probably the most subtle representatives of Classical Rock came together in 1967 and have been delighting audiences with their melancholic classical rock and esoteric spherical sounds. Now the British band is going on tour in Germany again.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac

Mon, Mar 25, 2024, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Jess Harwood (Lead vocals), James Harrison (Lead guitar), James Harrison (Vocals), Scott Poley (Guitar), Étienne Girard (Bass guitar), Sophie Worsley (Keyboards), Sophie Worsley (Lead vocals), Dave Goldberg (Keyboards), Dave Goldberg (Lead vocals), Allan Cosgrove (Drums)
In 1969, Fleetwood Mac sold more records than the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. The band’s album »Rumours« from 1977 is one of the most successful albums in music history. No wonder that a huge fan base rallied around the band – and still does today! »Rumours of Fleetwood Mac« was established in 1999 to pay tribute to this unique band that shaped the zeitgeist of the 60s to the 90s. To call this band, consisting of seven musicians, a tribute band would be too short-sighted. »It’s about their music« is their tour motto, which they decided on several years ago. In this sense, they try to perform the music of Fleetwood Mac as faithfully as possible and, above all, to revive the spirit of this worldwide celebrated band and its time. The love of Fleetwood Mac’s music has been embodied by the Liverpool-based band for the past 24 years as they tour America, Canada, the UK and Europe – and even with the blessing of the original band’s co-founder and drummer, Mick Fleetwood: »An extraordinary emotive performance of Fleetwood Mac!«

Elbphilharmonie, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
Alex Eckert (Guitar), Samuel Wootton (Drums), Silvan Strauß (Drums), Daniel Stritzke (Double bass)
The members of the Hamburg band TOYTOY describe themselves as a »musical gathering of four virtuoso instrumentalists«. Together, they regularly fill clubs and concert halls across Germany with their fiery bass, hypnotic guitars and bold percussive sounds. Famous for their unique vibe and energetic live shows, the musicians delight audiences with a fantastic mix of jazz, soul and hip-hop. Their concert series »[rejazzed]«, developed in partnership with Jazzhouse Hamburg, is also going down a treat, causing a sensation with their versions of iconic albums from the fields of hip-hop and pop culture. They regularly collaborate with musical partners such as Nils Landgren, Fünf Sterne deluxe and the NDR Bigband. TOYTOY now celebrate the release of their eagerly anticipated debut album inside the Elbphilharmonie, after rocking the Elbphilharmonie forecourt back in 2021, when the musicians delivered an unforgettable evening of music in the open air at the »Hope’n’Air« festival.

Kuult

Fri, Apr 5, 2024, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
Chris Werner (Vocals), Andreas Köckerbauer (Guitar), Andreas Köckerbauer (Keyboard), Christian de Crau (Bass), Christian de Crau (Guitar)
With a title like »Nackt«, the band Kuult presents an incredible musical soul striptease. Frontman Chris Werner opens up to his audience like never before. The band has matured and grown up. Existential worries often make them rethink. More thoughtful, more settled and yet (or precisely because of this) Kuult’s positive up-tempo numbers still shoot out of the starting blocks as usual and then the cool rollercoaster ride begins.
