Max Raabe & Palast Orchester

Date & Time
Thu, May 9, 2024, 20:00
It’s amazing how the question »Who’s in a bad mood here?« always puts people in a good mood, regardless of their individual state of mind. Max Raabe & Palast Orchester’s new tour »Wer hat hier schlechte Laune« has the same effect. No matter what the mood is before the concert, afterwards the audience always leaves the hall with a smile.

Max Uthoff is best known as a presenter alongside his cabaret colleague Claus von Wagner in the legendary political cabaret show "Die Anstalt", which satirises current events in politics and society in eight programmes a year on ZDF. What is his solo programme »Alles im Wunderland« about? »Maybe the madness of our time will be dealt with in its usual insidious, absurd, extreme left-wing and silly way. Or maybe not. Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing you – maybe«, is Max Uthoff announcing himself.

Max Richter (Piano), Max Richter (Keyboard), Eloisa-Fleur Thom (Violin), Max Baillie (Violin), Connie Pharoah (Viola), Max Ruisi (Cello), Zara Hudson-Kozdoj (Cello)
Welcome to a concert by one of the most influential and acclaimed composers of our time – Max Richter! His characteristic fusion of classical technique and electronic technology, heard on both solo albums and countless pieces for film, dance, art and fashion, have paved the way for a new generation of musicians and made him an iconic composer with fans around the world. His ninth solo album, In A Landscape, is the first one composed and recorded at his peaceful new studio in rural Oxfordshire. According to Richter, it is a fleeting self-portrait of a musician in constant motion. But it also goes much deeper than that. It is music about “uniting polarities.” Bringing together the electronic and the acoustic, the human and the natural world, the big questions of life and the quiet pleasures of living. After grappling with big ideas and thorny social and political questions, the making of In A Landscape has opened up another, greener world for Richter. Above all, making music remains “a way to make a kind of alternate reality,” a constructed world “where everything is in its place.”

Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich

Mon, Dec 1, 2025, 20:00

Sat, Jun 28, 2025, 20:00
Elena Harsányi (Soprano), Johannes Mayer (Tenor), Thilo Dahlmann (Bass), Rodenkirchener KammerChor und Orchester (Ensemble), Anna Goeke (Conductor)
Joseph Haydn's "The Creation" impressively portrays the biblical story of creation. The predominantly beautiful aspects highlighted in this 1798 oratorio feel almost utopian today, amidst crises and environmental disasters. Haydn's music, full of wit and virtuosity, uplifts and reminds us of our existence. Based on an English libretto inspired by Milton's "Paradise Lost", it also has a German version by Gottfried van Swieten.
