Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Max Raabe (Vocals), Palast Orchester
It’s amazing how the question »Who’s in a bad mood here?« always puts people in a good mood, regardless of their individual state of mind. Max Raabe & Palast Orchester’s new tour »Wer hat hier schlechte Laune« has the same effect. No matter what the mood is before the concert, afterwards the audience always leaves the hall with a smile.

Max Richter (Piano), Max Richter (Keyboard), Eloisa-Fleur Thom (Violin), Max Baillie (Violin), Connie Pharoah (Viola), Max Ruisi (Cello), Zara Hudson-Kozdoj (Cello)
Welcome to a concert by one of the most influential and acclaimed composers of our time – Max Richter! His characteristic fusion of classical technique and electronic technology, heard on both solo albums and countless pieces for film, dance, art and fashion, have paved the way for a new generation of musicians and made him an iconic composer with fans around the world. His ninth solo album, In A Landscape, is the first one composed and recorded at his peaceful new studio in rural Oxfordshire. According to Richter, it is a fleeting self-portrait of a musician in constant motion. But it also goes much deeper than that. It is music about “uniting polarities.” Bringing together the electronic and the acoustic, the human and the natural world, the big questions of life and the quiet pleasures of living. After grappling with big ideas and thorny social and political questions, the making of In A Landscape has opened up another, greener world for Richter. Above all, making music remains “a way to make a kind of alternate reality,” a constructed world “where everything is in its place.”

Max Reger – zum 150sten!

Sun, Mar 5, 2023, 18:00
Akemi Mercer-Niewöhner (Violin), Nadine Blumenstein (Violin), Dirk Niewöhner (Viola), Maja Schwamm (Cello), Sebastian Wittiber (Flute), Ulrich Büsing (Clarinet)
Considered a heavyweight successor to Brahms and Wagner, Reger's complex works remain polarizing. This concert, juxtaposed with Bach, showcases Reger's Baroque roots alongside his powerful musical breakthroughs. From old-style canons and a forward-striving serenade, the program culminates in his late Clarinet Quintet, which eschews earlier Reger's pathos, presenting instead a quiet introspection and delicate transparency. Concert duration: approx. 110 minutes.
