They present their skills in the Recital Hall of the Elbphilharmonie, sometimes in classical formations and sometimes in more unusual groupings.

Chamber Concert of the Orchestra Academy

Sun, Oct 29, 2023, 17:00
Konzerthalle Bamberg, Joseph-Keilberth-Saal (Bamberg)
Members of the Joseph Keilberth Orchestra Academy, Members of the Bamberg Symphony
On this afternoon, when the new scholarship holders of our Joseph Keilberth Orchestra Academy perform chamber music together with musicians from our orchestra, it shows best how we make the young orchestral talents of tomorrow fit for the job: Listening to one another in a small ensemble is essential for the large community of the symphony orchestra. And what better way to learn than in concert? We can look forward to a colourful programme with masterpieces of chamber music literature. A surprise concert, as it were, because many scholarship holders have just been called into our orchestra, so that an exact programme can only be announced a few weeks before the concert. Looking forward to a »carte blanche« that will certainly not disappoint.

Matinée of the Friends of the Berliner Philharmoniker e. V. “Music must enchant” ‒ A Maurice Ravel matinée

Sun, Mar 9, 2025, 11:00
Philharmonie Berlin, Main Auditorium (Berlin)
A Maurice Ravel matinéeHe is perhaps the most popular French composers: Maurice Ravel. Who doesn't know his Bolero, which presents a huge upward curve based on a distinct drum rhythm? The music always stays in time, as precise as a clockwork, but with its constantly expanding instrumentation and growing dynamics, it can either put us in a trance or ecstasy. It was not only with this work that Ravel achieved a real stroke of genius. This composer also allows us to dream nostalgically of times gone by and the paradise of childhood. With him, we can also look to the future and into other genres, as Ravel was one of the first to make jazz acceptable in classical music. On his 150th birthday, which the music world will celebrate on 7 March 2025, we want to honour Maurice Ravel with a musical and literary matinee that will take you through his life and present some of his most original chamber music works.

The Music of Queen

Sat, Mar 15, 2025, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
The exceptional artist Freddie Mercury died far too early at the age of 45. He celebrated mega successes with his band Queen. Their hits are immortal and continue to inspire young and old with their repertoire of rock, pop, classical, ballads, disco and RnB songs. Thanks to the film »Bohemian Rhapsody« (2018), numerous documentaries and concerts by the exceptional band, Queen remains unforgotten among their huge fan base to this day. The Music of Queen is probably the best and most authentic Queen tribute show currently available. The charismatic frontman Valentin L. Findling and his first-class live band present the world hits of Queen. He embodies Freddie Mercury in a breathtaking and energetic way like no other. He has the voice, the look and the moves. His live band has played with greats such as Earl Harvin, Peter Schilling, Sandy, as support for Eric Clapton, Paul Young, and many more. The songs offer a sweeping tour of the entire Queen repertoire with all the hit classics of the British cult band.
