The Nobel Prize has been presented at Konserthuset on 10 December every year since 1926, with a few exceptions (such as during World War II, when no awards were given in the years 1939–44, and recently during the pandemic 2020–21 when the ceremony couldn't take place at Konserthuset as usual).During the ceremony, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra performs from a specially constructed stage in the choir loft, above the podium. The podium is covered by the signature blue Nobel carpet, to accommodate members of the Swedish Academy, Nobel Prize recipients and the Royal family. A statue of Alfred Nobel forms the focal point on stage, and the great organ is decorated with a grand cockade in the colours of Sweden and Norway. The Nobel Prize Award Ceremony is broadcast on many TV channels around the world, and the event generates considerable global interest.

Götz Alsmann & Band

Tue, Jun 3, 2025, 20:00

The wisdom of proverbs and pop songs remain eternal truths... No wonder Götz Alsmann makes the night the centre of the evening on his new album and in his current programme. Or the evening as the highlight of the day? To this end, he draws on exquisite gems from the history of pop music, melancholic and humorous gems from 1910 to 1965 – and he does it differently to everyone else. It is not for nothing that the singer and pianist Götz Alsmann is regarded as the »King of German jazz schlager«.
