The new Heinz Erhardt Revue

Tue, Jan 21, 2025, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Patrick L. Schmitz (Comedian), mit Band und Ensemble
The new Heinz Erhardt Revue takes the audience into the fascinating universe of one of Germany’s greatest humourists. With the best mischievous wit and masterful word acrobatics; with a mixture of the most famous poems, songs and humorous sketches, the show celebrates the legacy of a man who is considered a master of comedy not only in Germany, but also beyond its borders. Patrick L. Schmitz, himself a lifelong admirer of Erhardt, slips into the role of the great comedian with dedication. Together with the ensemble, consisting of the multi-faceted Aline Joers, the versatile Gerald Ließ and the »eminent keyboard virtuoso« Franz Tröger, he turns the stage into the epicentre of humour. The ensemble has set itself the task of reproducing Erhardt’s inimitable timing, his wit and his beloved slips of the tongue with respect and a fresh breeze. The revue is not only a collection of Erhardt’s greatest works, but also an impressive display of artistic talent that will have the audience in stitches with laughter. Classics such as »Das Naschhorn«, »Die Made« and the often quoted puns are performed with an ease reminiscent of Erhardt’s signature performances. The resemblance of Patrick L. Schmitz to Heinz Erhardt, both in his appearance and in his performance, is astounding and was even received with enthusiasm by Erhardt’s family. The revue is therefore not simply a tribute, but acts as a window back to the time when Heinz Erhardt himself conquered the stages of Germany. An event that celebrates the German language, pokes fun at it in a charming way and illuminates its bizarre facets, the new »Heinz Erhardt Revue« is an unmissable cultural event. Visitors can expect an unforgettable evening full of laughter and nostalgic moments in which the memory of one of the true greats of comedy is kept alive.

Queen Of Sand

Laeiszhalle, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
Irina Titova (Sand artist), Sky du Mont (Reading)
She came with a handful of sand and won the hearts of her audience with her extraordinary talent. Irina Titova is the »Queen of Sand« and knows like no other how to bring the fleetingness of the moment to the screen for a magical moment. She has been captivating audiences since 2018 on her first tour of Germany, taking them on a sensational journey ‘Around the World in 80 Pictures’ and will now finally make many eyes light up in 2025 with a new sand painting show. It’s off to »The fabulous world of film«. The audience accompanies a young man on his exciting journey and immerses itself in the most beautiful and famous film scenes from Hollywood’s dream factory. At breathtaking speed, the Sand Queen creates her images on a glass disc illuminated from below, which are projected onto a screen. Here, the protagonist made of sand meets all the big and small heroes and heroines of our favourite films. He meets the alien E.T., who so desperately wants to phone home, and comforts him with true friendship in his homesickness. He flies across the oceans with the lucky dragon Falkor from »The Neverending Story«, travels with Marty McFly and Doc Brown in the DeLorean »Back to the Future«, hears the famous song in »Casablanca« once again with Ingrid Bergman, and finally eats chocolates on the legendary park bench as Forrest Gump. Accompanied by the unmistakable voice of the internationally renowned German film star Sky Du Mont as narrator and the famous melodies of Hollywood’s most sought-after composers such as Klaus Badelt, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Alan Silvestri and Giorgio Moroder, the talented artist creates an absolutely unique atmosphere every evening. The well-known Austrian actor Alexander Jagsch has been enlisted to direct and write this fabulous journey through the world of film. Between beautiful memories of the unforgettable scenes and the bittersweet melancholy that nothing is permanent, the audience savours the fascination of the moment with every grain of sand.

Philharmonie Berlin, Chamber Music Hall (Berlin)
Seong-Jin Cho (Piano)
Seong-Jin Cho loves the “incredible wealth of colours” and “often orchestral sound” of Maurice Ravel's piano music, where he finds a special form of sensitivity. He sees in Ravel “a person who smiles gently, but with tears in his eyes”. To mark the 150th anniversary of the French composer's birth, our Artist in Residence will perform Ravel's complete works for solo piano, including the gravitational Pavane pour une infante défunte, the mysterious Gaspard de la nuit and the sometimes lively, sometimes dreamy Valses nobles et sentimentales.
