übelst unverstärkt: Lawrence Power

Date & Time
Sat, Feb 15, 2025, 19:30
A long bar, dim lighting, beanbags and a relaxed audience. This is what concert evenings at »übelst unverstärkt« look like, where musicians from the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra perform with international soloists. Alan Gilbert, chief conductor of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, has already dropped by with his viola. Martin Fröst, Joshua Bell, Daniel Müller-Schott, Anna Vinnitskaya and Augustin Hadelich followed with great live acts. And they all had a lot of fun performing in a neighbourhood club and presenting captivating chamber music up close.

übelst unverstärkt: Alan Gilbert

Wed, May 1, 2024, 21:00
Bunker Feldstraße, Uebel & Gefährlich (Hamburg)
Mitglieder des NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchesters, Alan Gilbert (Viola)
Visitors to this alternative concert series can experience the musicians of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra together with international soloists. The »Uebel & Gefährlich« club in the bunker on Feldstraße is the perfect place for a concert in a special atmosphere. Since 2019, many international classical music stars have already been guests at »übelst unverstärkt«. Alan Gilbert, chief conductor of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, kicked things off on the viola. He was followed by Gautier Capuçon, Daniel Müller-Schott and Esa-Pekka Salonen, among others. They all have one thing in common: they have never performed in a club before. Together with the members of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, they thus create a special concert experience. The concept of the series is to bring chamber music to an unusual venue and to experience the musical experience up close and personal. But the focus is not only on the music. Through interviews and conversations with the soloists, the audience learns exciting and amusing facts and anecdotes about the works, but also about the musicians themselves.
