Johann Sebastian Bach's "Peasant Cantata" from 1742 features Saxon dialect, dance forms, and folk melodies. Carl Maria von Weber composed the "Freischütz Mass" in 1818 while working on his famous opera Der Freischütz.
When a cool children’s and youth choir like DIE JUNGS performs on stage together with Rolf Zuckowski at the beginning of December, you can look forward to a very special way to get into the Christmas spirit. Because what more do you need than 50 boys who are really looking forward to Christmas? A mixture of traditional Christmas songs in a special JUNGS guise, with a few modern Christmas songs thrown in, and Rolf, who sings the audience into a wonderful Christmas mood with his Christmas songs anyway. This is exactly why choirmaster Jens Pape, Rolf Zuckowski and DIE JUNGS are looking forward to ringing in December with lots of fun, energy and great singing at the Laeiszhalle Rectial Hall for all those in search of Christmas.
The Apollo Choir of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden will perform J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio, parts 1-3, for their annual Christmas concert. Wishing for peace, light, and joy in difficult times, the choir has chosen this piece to bring joy and confidence to the audience.
The fabulous world of hobbits, elves and orcs is brought to life tonight in a major concert experience with a symphony orchestra, choir and star guests. From the menacing sounds of Mordor and the shrill attack of the black riders to the marvellous lyrical meodies of the elves – the Laeiszhalle is transformed into a musical scenario of Middle Earth by nearly 100 artists.
