Even before the end of World War II, Frank Martin began composing "In terra pax," a musical piece for peace. It expressed his transition from despair to hope for a brighter future. The short oratorio, meaning "Peace on Earth," themes are liberation, hope, forgiveness, love, and a vision of a new earth without suffering. Although performed at the war's end, its message remains relevant, as Martin believed peace is a constant longing of our souls.
