The Hungarian Chamber Philharmonic, founded in 1999 by Professor Antal Barnás, consists of members from Budapest and Györ's leading orchestras. The unique Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra has been continuing the artistic legacy of the Wiener Strauss-Kapelle since 1966, after the latter was disbanded by Eduard Strauss I in New York in 1901. Eduard Strauss II, the grandson and last professional musician from the Strauss dynasty, revived the concept of a family ensemble when he founded the Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra. The orchestra has been performing around the world ever since, presenting the works of the Strauss dynasty – most notably the festive melodies of their artistic ancestors, the two »waltz kings«, Johann Strauss (the Father) and Johann Strauss (the Son).
