Tony Ann (Piano)
A virtuoso by trade, Tony Ann is a solo pianist with big ideas. He fuses the styles of both the new and the old to breathtaking effect. As a self-proclaimed harmony connoisseur, Ann is always thinking of ways to not only push the boundaries of neoclassical and instrumental music but also popular music. While Ann may be limited to music without words he successfully uses all eighty eight keys to his advantage with original compositions steeped in emotion, technique and range. With over 100M+ views and a collective following of 4M+ across social media, Ann has navigated the online world with great success introducing younger generations to neoclassical ideas particularly through his “#playthatword” series. Using the alphabet written on his keyboard, Ann has created original compositions based on words pitched to him by his audience with many of these pieces released officially. This year, Ann has released a trilogy of EPs (EMOTIONALLY BLUE, ORANGE and RED) in partnership with Decca Records France (Universal Music Group) as part of a series of 15 tracks that explores the many emotions of the human experience. Away from his solo work, Tony loves collaboration in which he has released tracks with Don Diablo, Wrabel and L.Dre showing his musical elasticity and willingness to immerse himself into different genres such as EDM, Lofi and pop. In addition, Ann has enjoyed working with The Chainsmokers, having a hand in co-writing both the platinum US singles ‘Sick Boy’ and ‘Call You Mine (feat. Bebe Rexha)’ as well as the gold US single ’Side Effects (feat. Emily Warren)’. Ann also had the pleasure of touring with them as their official keyboardist for their “Memories: Do Not Open” North American arena tour which also included performances on SNL and Good Morning America. Off the back of a recent 4 show sold out residency at Le 360 in Paris, Tony is excited to take his genre-bending show to stages afar starting with a World tour in March 2024.

The Fifth Symphony is a work with which the composer fought for public recognition. Kirill Petrenko conducts Bruckner with the Berliner Philharmoniker for the first time.

USA tour Ann Arbor

Sat, Nov 23, 2024, 20:00
Berliner Philharmoniker (Orchestra), Kirill Petrenko (Conductor), Benjamin Beilman (Violin)
At times melancholic and rugged, at others with a dance-like lightness: Antonín Dvořák’s Seventh Symphony presents a broad spectrum of contrasting moods, infused with the unmistakable colouring of Czech folk music. Kirill Petrenko also conducts Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s Violin Concerto. Exiled from his native Vienna, Korngold brought his lush late romantic harmonic language to Hollywood; in this piece, his film music can be heard again and again. Sergei Rachmaninov’s mystical tone poem The Isle of the Dead takes us into yet another hypnotic sound world.

50 years ago, Barclay James Harvest and founder Les Horloyd started their musical journey in Manchester. Probably the most subtle representatives of Classical Rock came together in 1967 and have been delighting audiences with their melancholic classical rock and esoteric spherical sounds. Now the British band is going on tour in Germany again.

Rumours of Fleetwood Mac

Mon, Mar 25, 2024, 20:00
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Jess Harwood (Lead vocals), James Harrison (Lead guitar), James Harrison (Vocals), Scott Poley (Guitar), Étienne Girard (Bass guitar), Sophie Worsley (Keyboards), Sophie Worsley (Lead vocals), Dave Goldberg (Keyboards), Dave Goldberg (Lead vocals), Allan Cosgrove (Drums)
In 1969, Fleetwood Mac sold more records than the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. The band’s album »Rumours« from 1977 is one of the most successful albums in music history. No wonder that a huge fan base rallied around the band – and still does today! »Rumours of Fleetwood Mac« was established in 1999 to pay tribute to this unique band that shaped the zeitgeist of the 60s to the 90s. To call this band, consisting of seven musicians, a tribute band would be too short-sighted. »It’s about their music« is their tour motto, which they decided on several years ago. In this sense, they try to perform the music of Fleetwood Mac as faithfully as possible and, above all, to revive the spirit of this worldwide celebrated band and its time. The love of Fleetwood Mac’s music has been embodied by the Liverpool-based band for the past 24 years as they tour America, Canada, the UK and Europe – and even with the blessing of the original band’s co-founder and drummer, Mick Fleetwood: »An extraordinary emotive performance of Fleetwood Mac!«

Famous for their unique vibe and energetic live shows, the musicians delight audiences with a fantastic mix of jazz, soul and hip-hop. Their concert series »[rejazzed]«, developed in partnership with Jazzhouse Hamburg, is also going down a treat, causing a sensation with their versions of iconic albums from the fields of hip-hop and pop culture. They regularly collaborate with musical partners such as Nils Landgren, Fünf Sterne deluxe and the NDR Bigband. Laeiszhalle, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
Chris Werner (Vocals), Andreas Köckerbauer (Guitar), Andreas Köckerbauer (Keyboard), Christian de Crau (Bass), Christian de Crau (Guitar)
With a title like »Nackt«, the band Kuult presents an incredible musical soul striptease. Frontman Chris Werner opens up to his audience like never before. The band has matured and grown up. Existential worries often make them rethink. More thoughtful, more settled and yet (or precisely because of this) Kuult’s positive up-tempo numbers still shoot out of the starting blocks as usual and then the cool rollercoaster ride begins.
