Three weeks before Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau's death in spring 2012, Benjamin Appl visited him for a lesson. Fischer-Dieskau, a great lieder singer, was Appl's role model and close friend. Appl created a tribute for Fischer-Dieskau's 100th birthday using private documents. The result is a personal and multifaceted portrait of the exceptional artist.
