"Kaiserliche Harmonien" mit dem c/o chamber orchestra

Mon, Dec 9, 2024, 20:00
Frauke Tautorus (Oboe), Michael Hertel (Oboe), Sebastian Lehne (Clarinet), Jason Denner (Clarinet), Florian Bensch (Fagott), Till Weder (Fagott), Aaron Seidenberg (Horn), Marion Pedetti (Horn), Paul Wheatley (Contrabass)
In April 1782, Vienna saw the birth of the first imperial "Harmonie" consisting entirely of wind instruments, marking the beginning of a half-century trend in European court music. These ensembles created a new genre and revitalized chamber music, which continues to delight with its wit and spirit. Since 2014, the conductorless c/o chamber orchestra has explored music-making without hierarchies, ranging from chamber music to opera.

Enchanting chamber music featuring clarinet, viola, and piano. The program includes Max Bruch's dreamy pieces Op. 83, Jörg Widmann's subtle five pieces "Es war einmal" (Once upon a time), and Johannes Brahms's late, mellow Opus 114. These works, imbued with magic, promise a wonderful Sunday chamber music experience presented by the hr-Sinfonieorchester at the hr-Sendesaal. Concert duration: approx. 110 minutes including intermission.

The Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra's chamber concerts return to the Altes Hallenbad Theater in Friedberg this season with fairytale melodies. The selected works for clarinet, viola, and piano leave nothing to be desired, and all possess an enchanting magic: Max Bruch's pensive pieces Op. 83, Jörg Widmann's delicate five pieces "Es war einmal" and Johannes Brahms' late, mellow Opus 114.
