As a chamber music professor and piano accompanist, Mara Mednik worked for decades to turn talented young musicians into the stars of tomorrow. She brought many as yet unknown greats to the stage of the Hamburg Chamber Music Festival. Her former students have included Daniel Hope, David Garett, Julian Steckel and Vilde Frang.

There were no boundaries between serious and entertaining music in Mozart’s time, and this has remained the case in France to this day. In this concert, guests are invited to enjoy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the French composer Jean Françaix, according to his motto »musique pour faire plaisir« (music to give pleasure).

On this evening, three young international artists with great voices who have already celebrated their first successes at major opera houses will be on stage. Only the opera salon in a chamber music setting allows a closeness to the artists that is impossible on the big stages of the theatres. Wonderful arias and duets are performed – highlights and unknown treasures of opera that will delight opera lovers and newcomers alike.
