Fazıl Say / Piano Recital

Mon, Oct 28, 2024, 19:30
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
Fazıl Say (Piano)
He loves the surprise, the unpredictable, the spontaneous: Fazıl Say is an impulsive pianist, an artist through and through, who turns every one of his concerts into an experience. So it is absolutely fitting that he serves up an entire half of his current programme as a surprise – entitled »Fazıl Say à la carte«, he presents a compilation of his own heartfelt works. Chef’s suggestions, so to speak, composed and recombined each time by the pianist himself. What all his works have in common is a strong connection to contemporary themes. Franz Schubert’s last sonata represents the timeless antithesis to this – written in the year of the composer’s death, it touches on the deepest human emotions, reflecting joie de vivre, longing and a premonition of death in equal measure.
