Tangerine Dream
Laeiszhalle, Großer Saal (Hamburg)
The legendary electronic band Tangerine Dream presents their album »Raum« at the Laeiszhalle. For over 50 years, the band, founded in Berlin by Edgar Froese in 1967, has shaped the genre with milestones like »Phaedra« and innovative live performances. Their latest album has also been critically acclaimed: »The best Tangerine Dream album in decades,« writes Resident Advisor. After the death of Edgar Froese in 2015, the line-up of Tangerine Dream now consists of Thorsten Quaeschning (since 2005) as musical director, Hoshiko Yamane (since 2011), Ulrich Schnauss (since 2014), and Paul Frick (since June 2020). The band has since returned to their classic sequencer-driven sound. Every performance concludes with a live session, an improvised composition that can last between 20 minutes and two hours.
