“Workshop.Dialogue.Music” Concert breakfast at the Palais Populaire

In the popular chamber music series “Workshop.Dialogue.Music”, musicians of the Berliner Philharmoniker introducing themselves and their instruments, and talking in a relaxed atmosphere about the works presented, their interpretation and their approach. Questions and a dialogue with the audience are very welcome! A new feature is that visitors can enjoy a French breakfast from 11:00 onwards, before the concert begins at 11:30. Breakfast is included in the ticket price.

Klavierrezital Gregorio Benítez

Benítez wird von Kritikern als „Künstler mit hypnotischer Ausstrahlung auf der Bühne, der eine außergewöhnliche Palette an Klavierfarben besitzt" gefeiert. Der spanische Pianist wird Auszüge aus Messiaens „Catalogue d’oiseaux", einem Meilenstein der Klaviergeschichte, präsentieren. Dies erfolgt anlässlich des 100. Geburtstags der Muse Messiaens Yvonne Loriod, die dieses Werk vor 65 Jahren zur Uraufführung brachte.Das Konzert ist Teil einer Tournee, in der er die vollständigen Klavierwerke des französischen Komponisten in einigen der renommiertesten Konzerthallen der Welt aufführen wird.

“Des Canyons aux étoiles …” Sir Simon Rattle conducts Messiaen

To conclude the festival, Musikfest Berlin and the Karajan Academy under Simon Rattle fly through the red gorges of the canyons in Utah and up to the stars: Olivier Messiaen’s “Des Canyons aux étoiles …” is a birthday gift to the USA and also a spiritual hymn to the closely woven links between the divine and nature, between birdsong and the shades of colour in the rainbow.
