A Musical Bunch

FeNek is occasionally visited by a musical gang. So what is it? Well, a gang is a group of people who like and respect each other and are harmonious, not only at concerts. Every meeting brings new musical adventures: together they figure out how to give each other a tune, tap out a rhythm or catch a harmony, while asking each other strange questions. ‘Do tigers eat irises?’ ‘Which is better to have: feathers or quills?’ ‘Who’s the mysterious pumpkin eater?’ As you may have guessed, this is quite a crazy bunch, but they’re also sensitive and attentive to lyrical, romantic sounds... played, for example, on the piano. When Warsaw Became the Capital

Have you ever walked around the Old Town in Warsaw and along the cobbled streets from the Castle Square to the New Town Square? If so, you must know that you’ve walked in the footsteps of the old times, when Warsaw became the capital of Poland and King Sigismund III took up residence in the Royal Castle. To find out more about those times, all you have to do is come to the Philharmonic. We’ll tell you what secrets are hidden in the streets of the Old Town, what the fashionable clothes and games used to be. We’ll show you how music was played in the royal chambers and present beautiful instruments characteristic of those times. The concert will include instrumental pieces, court and feast songs, and will be accompanied by historical dance.

Fairy Lands

The Philharmonic is always filled with different and colourful sounds, especially during carnival season! That’s why FeNek makes sure to celebrate in a special way and invite wonderful guests to the ball. This time he’ll be visited by such distinguished guests as Pocahontas, Alladin, the Lion King and even Elsa. Together, we’ll discover the tunes that entertained or encouraged them during their adventures on the big screen. Perhaps those sounds will enable us to fly on a magic carpet to Africa, see the colours borne by wind or find out what can be heard at the bottom of the sea? Impossible? Anything can happen in the world of music – all you have to do is prick up your ears and be curious about new adventures. In the Music Theatre: Pinocchio

Let’s play ‘hot or cold’. Do you know a little boy who’s just getting to know people and the world and to learn about everything? Cold? He has a completely hard body but a soft heart? Still cold? I’ll also say that the little boy has a tendency to err from the truth, and with every lie he tells, his nose gets longer and longer. Warmer? So I’d add that this little boy has good intentions, but succumbs to various temptations – just like all of us! And his Daddy carved him out of an old piece of wood that talked. Hot! Yes, the protagonist of our musical play will be the world’s most famous marionette. Come and meet Pinocchio! The Music of Snowflakes

The sound of jingle bells can be heard in the distance, the air is filled with the scents of Christmas trees and aromatic bakes, the world is beginning to sparkle with colours and lights, and the houses, gardens, forests and fields are wrapped in a white feather quilt. And at the Philharmonic? FeNek knows that the magic of Christmas lies also in the unique music, which evokes memories of meeting loved ones, singing carols together and having fun in the snow or on the ice. Christmas is about images and sometimes whole films of recorded stories. If you want to feel that special atmosphere, come to the concert at the Warsaw Philharmonic. When magical snow starts to fall in the Concert Hall, the stage and the auditorium will fill with the sounds of carols, winter songs and tunes from those favourite Christmas films we love watching each year. The Moon in a Bowl

How about an invitation to the world of fantasy, unusual stories and beautiful sounds? That’s where we’ll take you during a concert featuring songs composed by Grzegorz Turnau. Over the years, this artist has created music for many TV and theatre productions for children and youngsters. The result of that work is the album Moon in a Bowl, which we have turned to in order to invite you to a unique and magical world in which many adventures, crazy journeys and meetings with your favourite book characters await you.

From History to Fable

Do you like listening to stories? Curling up in an armchair and casting your thoughts far away? Well, we have for you stories turned into sounds. Some of them take place among us, and we recognise in them familiar faces and situations. They take place in the world around us and can happen to anyone. But there are also fairy tales, which carry us far away, where no one has ever been before, beyond the mountains, beyond the forests, to the land of imagination, which will determine what our fairytale world will be like and who we will meet there. We invite you to join us on a musical journey from history to fable.
