Nika Son

Nika Breithaupt aka Nika Son aka Nikae works as a DJ in Hamburg’s Golden Pudel Club, writes film music, co-curates a festival, puts on exhibitions with other artists and you can experience her with her compositions worldwide at festivals and in clubs. The renowned London music magazine The Wire describes her new album »Aslope« as »an album of great subtlety, an oneiric musique concrete that pulses and murmurs with an intense and fluid vitality.« In her music, she combines distorted and fragmented field recordings using analogue synthesiser lines, broken rhythms, repeated snippets of voices and warped tape relays. Influenced by the musique concrète composition technique, in which music is composed from previously recorded and partly electronically distorted sounds, and the expanses of electronic music, her sounds are almost tangible and visible.

Ravel

Alexandre Tharaud’s great passion for the music of Maurice Ravel is well-known, having notably produced his recording of the complete piano works in 2003, and the two concertos some twenty years later, with the Orchestre national de France.
