Inspired by the festival motto "Liberated Time", Michael Ende's character Momo invites you to an afternoon listening session on the first festival Sunday. Like Momo, the festival concert dedicates time to young musicians. The concert is for elementary schools; registration is required. The concert ticket costs €5 for students, and up to 4 accompanying persons per class are free.

„Bridge the chasms that divide“ – mit einem Projekt unter diesem Titel widmet sich das Signum Quartett mit ihrem aus Südafrika stammenden Bratschisten Xandi Van Dijk dem Ende der Apartheit dort vor 30 Jahren. Trennende Gräben zu überwinden, diese Mission klingt vermutlich auch in den Ohren vieler junger Menschen vertraut; so ließe sie sich ohne weiteres auch auf aktuelle Situationen in unserem Zusammenleben anwenden. Über Fragen von Demokratie und Freiheit möchte das Signum Quartett deshalb in seinem Konzert für Schulklassen mit Jugendlichen ins Gespräch kommen. Es erklingen unter anderem Werke junger südafrikanischer Komponist*innen, die eigens für das Projekt erschaffen wurden.Für Schulklassen der Stufen 9-135 € für Schüler*innen, bis zu 4 Begleitpersonen pro Klasse kostenlosAnmeldung bei Franziska Spohr unter f.spohr@heidelberger-fruehling.de

Klassik- und Jazzspezialisten des SWR Symphonieorchesters stellen in ihrer Musikauswahl mit persönlichen Kommentaren die wechselseitige Beziehung der beiden Genres Klassik und Jazz dar. Jazz-Standards wie "Autumn Leaves", "Take the A-Train" oder "I Got Rhythm" treffen auf Werke von Maurice Ravel oder Wolfgang Rihm. Aus erster Hand erfahren die Schüler:innen von den Musikern, wie sich z. B. Harmonik und Rhythmik im Jazz wandeln, welche Klangeffekte auf den Instrumenten möglich sind und wie sie eingesetzt werden, wie und warum Jazz-Saxophonist und Solo-Fagottist des SWR Symphonieorchesters Libor Sima die Jazz-Standards neu interpretiert und ob Improvisieren wirklich komplett ohne Plan funktioniert.Das Konzert bietet durch seine moderierte Live-Performance eine perfekte Ergänzung zum Abiturthema und zum Einstieg in das Themenfeld Jazz. Für interessierte Klassen und Kurse bieten wir nach dem Konzert eine Gesprächsrunde mit den Künstlern in Form eines Speeddatings an.Dauer: ca. 2,5 Stunden inkl. Pausen, mit Gesprächsrunde 3 Stunden. Empfohlen für angehende Abiturient:innen, aber auch für Mittel- und Oberstufe. Anmeldung zur Gesprächsrunde nach dem Konzert unter musikvermittlung@SWR.de.
