Sing along to Christmas classics with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra! It's time to warm up and exercise those vocal cords, and get ready for the perfect prelude to the holiday celebrations. Of course, it's perfectly fine to just listen as well, and let yourself be enveloped by the orchestra and voices that fill every corner of the Main Hall.Leading the sing-along is Emelie Power, organist and choir conductor at Katarina Parish in Stockholm. She has previously led sing-alongs with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at the annual Philharmonic Day. The conductor is Sofia Winiarski, who recently completed her conducting degree at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and has already gained significant attention.***The possibility of bringing a pram into Konserthuset is very limited, so please consider leaving the pram at home.

Philharmonic Day – Sing-along with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra

Have you always dreamt of singing in some of the greatest hits of classical music? This is your chance! With the help of our luxurious ”backing band”, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, it’s time for you to participate and sing along in well-known music pieces. We dare to promise you a powerful experience.The sing-along is led by Emilie Power, organist and choir leader of the Katarina parish. Lyrics will be handed out ahead of the concert.Strollers and prams cannot be brought into Konserthuset Stockholm and are best left at home. A designated stroller tent is set up outside the entrance, where prams can be left, subject to space availability.

Christmas Oratorio

Experience Johann Sebastian Bach's magnificent Christmas Oratorio! To the thunder of timpani and jubilant trumpets, it is proclaimed in the magnificent opening that Jesus is born.It's easy to be misled by the title Christmas Oratorio, as if it were a single work intended to be performed at one occasion, Christmas Eve. That's far from the case. In fact, the Christmas Oratorio consists of six different parts, intended to be performed at as many occasions around Christmas. Today, as in this concert, it's customary to perform the first three parts, which were first performed together at a concert in Leipzig, in the days around Christmas 1735.Delving into Bach's music is to venture into an unfathomable and fascinating musical universe. We constantly discover new things, and it never ends. Spend a few hours with Bach's Christmas Oratorio. It's a magnificent experience.The Italian baroque specialist and conductor Luca Guglielmi leads the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Eric Ericson's Chamber Choir, and the four soloists. Eric Ericson's Chamber Choir, formed in 1945, ranks among the top international professional ensembles. Since 2003, the choir has had a close collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

Family concert – Ludde B

With humour and imagination, several of Beethoven's most famous pieces are presented. Alexander Hanson leads the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, and the presenter is Madeleine Wittmark (replacing the previously announced Ayla Kabaca).In this humorous and entertaining performance, with the self-centered puppet Ludde B at the center, we get an introduction to Beethoven's music. At the same time, we learn what a conductor does, what a composer is busy with, and what a piano concerto is. The children also get to sing along in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, the "national anthem" of the EU, music that turns out to be familiar to the children.Famous classical composers often become a new acquaintance for children who come to Konserthuset. Many times, it's also their first encounter with a symphony orchestra.Creators of the show are Klas Backman, music teacher, songwriter and music producer who studied at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, and Ayla Kabaca, well-known from Barnens Allsång på Skansen (Children’s Sing-along at Skansen) and as an SVT programme host.***The possibility of bringing a pram into Konserthuset is very limited, so please consider leaving the pram at home.
