Wildes Holz
Elbphilharmonie, Kleiner Saal (Hamburg)
The Wildes Holz trio has made a name for itself by finally playing rock and pop music on »real« instruments. And these are, of course, wooden instruments! Especially the common recorder, which gives this music a very special touch. But what is already possible with rock classics should be even more possible with the »real« classics! So Wildes Holz takes on Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Brahms or Telemann – and plays their music as if they were rock classics. And in a way they are. And the treatment with woody humour, virtuosity and a good pinch of self-irony does these works extraordinary good! It is not without reason that the trio has been playing on the small and large stages of Germany for 25 years and has thus already become a classic itself.
