Mozart's Symphony No. 40, K. 550, is his most famous. Viennese conductor and violinist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Artist in Residence, is uniquely qualified to present this masterpiece in the Spotlight concert. Born and musically raised in Vienna, he embodies the Mozartian spirit. He'll discuss this symphony in G minor, which, with Nos. 39 and 41, forms a famous triad crowning Mozart's symphonic work. Its mastery and emotional richness, with characteristic dark tones, make it one of Mozart's most expressive works, exploring themes of darkness and resignation.
The hr-Symphony Orchestra invites you to experience Mozart's orchestral works up close at the Alte Oper Frankfurt during "Mainly Mozart." Two concerts are offered: one for children, teenagers (10+), and families, and another for adults. The concert is approximately 60 minutes long.
