The Concertgebouw’s Children’s Concerts take children aged 4 to 12 on a wonderful journey of discovery into the world of music, instruments and musicians. Breathtaking music and stories that challenge children to listen, to look, to sing and to participate. They learn about the most beautiful sounds and modern and ancient masterworks from near and far in a playful manner. Please note: narration during these concerts will be in Dutch.

The Eric Ericson Chamber Choir was founded in 1945 by the then 27-year-old Eric Ericson, and has since then occupied a central place in Swedish and international music life. The choir ranks among the absolute top tier of professional ensembles internationally, and since 2003, the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir has had a close collaboration with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra at Konserthuset.The choir's repertoire is very broad and spans from the Renaissance to the present day. In this concert, the choir has chosen to focus on the great German-speaking Romantic composers such as Franz Schubert, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, and Johannes Brahms, but also the lesser-known Peter Cornelius.The Eric Ericson Chamber Choir is led by guest conductor Justin Doyle, chief conductor of the prestigious RIAS Kammerchor in Berlin, where he also works as a professor of choral conducting at the Hanns Eisler School of Music.

The stages of both the Main Hall and the Recital Hall have borne witness to nearly the whole of jazz history. Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald have both performed here, as have Miles Davis and Louis Armstrong. Famous pop stars and bands that have graced the stage of the Main Hall include Frank Zappa, the Doors and the Eagles, to name but a few. Legendary concerts, in the present as well as the past.

After many of the concerts, we offer a meet-and-greet with the artists in an informal setting, or an afterparty with DJ in the Entrance Hall. In one of the world’s finest concert halls, there’s something for everyone this summer at The Concertgebouw!
