Scheherazade

Date & Time
Thu, Mar 16, 2023, 19:00
Who doesn't know the tales from "1001 Nights"? Chief conductor Alain Altinoglu promises to immerse and experience them in the "Spotlight" concert. In the symphonic suite from 1888, the listener follows Scheherazade's narratives in four movements. Rimsky-Korsakov set only a small selection of the 1001 tales directly to music. The musical material is subjected to a virtuoso interplay of motifs: "By appearing in different colors, shapes, and moods each time, they always correspond to different ideas, actions, or images." (approx. 115 minutes)
