Once per season, the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra Academy scholarship holders showcase their skills in a chamber concert. This year's program includes pieces by Edward Elgar and Antonín Dvořák, contemporary rarities like McCarty's 1962 Sonata for Bass Trombone and Strings and Akiho's "Aluminous", and French chamber music works by Étienne Perruchon, Eugène Brozza, and Jean Françaix. A world premiere by Spanish composer Miguel Ángel Gris Peñas completes the program.
